Do you ever get those pesky Discord DMs that tell you that you've won a prize, giveaway, or just a plain server invite? They're annoying, I know, and you've already seen your favorite server moderators tell you to turn DMs off, without explaining how to do so. Look no further! In this article, I will explain how to disable Discord DMs on desktop, as well as add to the massive pile of articles already explaining this topic.

Carl-bot is one of the primary Discord bots used in all PattlesStore servers, mainly because it has so many useful features that are also very easy to implement/disable. One of the big features is autoroles. It allows all new users that join your server be automatically given a/multiple roles. Some new servers like to use this to give members an "OG" role of sorts, others like to automatically verify (don't do this).
If you're interested in disabling autoroles, whether it be after purchasing a server from PattlesStore (you can also just ask me to do it) or just for yourself, read below. Discord will be turning 7 on May 16th, 2022, and one of the ways they are celebrating is by releasing a new (Limited Time) Party Mode! The Party Mode "feature" was released on May 13th, and will be available all the way through May 16th at 8:00 PM EST. One of the additions in the Party Mode is achievements. By typing in chat, you can unlock up to 20 various achievements. If you want to find them out for yourself, don't click Read More and have fun! For the rest of us, here's how you can unlock all 20 of the new Discord Party Mode achievements!
Discord has recently implemented the ability to switch accounts. This means you no longer have to log out and into another account (which takes longer than a minute), and can just click a few buttons instead! Since Discord isn't that great at explaining how new features work, here's a quick guide on how to use this feature easily.
Note: Though this feature was actually introduced in March, Discord has decided to slowly roll it out across multiple months, so don't worry if you haven't seen it yet. Have you ever seen someone post an event that autoconverted to your local time and thought, "wow, that exists?". Yes, it does, and it's not that difficult to do yourself either! They're called Timestamps, and they're very useful if you don't want your community to go through the hassle of converting times to their respective timezones.
Have you ever created a Discord server with the intention of having it become a public place with many members coming there to hang out, but you got stuck on writing rules? Except you don't want to write rules that are generic, toxic, useless, or unreadable? I've been there too. The thing is, writing original server rules is a pain, and no one wants to do it. So to combat this, I've taken the most popular rules from my 4+ years of working with Discord and compiled a list for you to copy easily into your own server. There will be categories, in case your server doesn't exactly fall into the generic 'Community' Discord group. Safety is one of the most important things in any field. Whether it's your bank, NFTs, emails, or games; making sure you're safe is priority. Of course, the generic "Don't click suspicious links", "Don't give out your password/security questions", "Don't purchase off of shady websites" jargon still holds true, but come on, it's 2022, and hackers/scammers have gotten way more advanced than lousy phishing emails and getting you to download malware on your device. There's tons of different scams that I could talk about, but I'll stick to Discord today. Here are some of the most popular scams that I know of, and how to stay safe. Have you ever seen someone have an invisible username in Discord? Wanted to learn how to do it yourself? Now you can, just by reading this blog post! Discord has many cool things you can do, and one of them is making everything about yourself invisible (if you wish to do so). Here's how. Note: These 'exploits' might be fixed in the future, so use them while you can. Discord formatting is a must-have. Whether you want to make your messages look all nice or just make some text stand out while other text is less noticeable, Discord formatting is one of the more useful tools it has. If you've ever seen someone spice up their messages or posts in Discord but didn't want to research/look through countless posts on how to do it, don't worry! I, inspired by R74N, have written down all (at the time of writing this) Discord's formatting features and how to apply them. Note: Some of these features require Developer Mode to be enabled. Discord already has a great blog of how to enable it, so click here to view that page. So you just bought a Tier 3 or Custom Package. First of all, thank you so much. As a token of my gratitude, you receive 30d-60d (depending on the Tier) of Helper.gg Premium for free. But here comes the tricky part. After the "trial" runs out, you must pay for Helper.gg yourself, or risk losing the main ticketing features. Of course, you can still use Helper.gg without premium, or just switch to a different bot, but I highly advise against it. The bot won't break, but a lot of things you got used to doing – such as claiming, logging, and translating – will be disabled. If your server has more than 3,000 members, the public will take notice, and your staff team will have a very hard time.
But how do you pay for Helper.gg? After all, you don’t even know what the website is, how to navigate it, or where the payment gateway is. Look no further! This guide will show a step-by-step process of how to navigate to the payment menu of Helper.gg & pay for Premium. |
